ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Authorities are investigating a reported bomb threat at William Allen High School in Allentown Monday morning, coinciding with the first day of the 2026-27 school year.
Allentown Police and other emergency personnel responded to the high school Monday morning after the threat was reported. Students were evacuated from the building as authorities investigated. Police said everyone was safe. (Facebook)
As of early Monday morning, authorities had not announced the discovery of any explosive device or other dangerous material inside the school.
The incident comes as students across the Allentown School District were scheduled to return to classrooms Monday, August 24, for the start of the new school year. The district’s official school website confirms Monday as the first day back for students. (William Allen High School)
William Allen High School has dealt with bomb threats in the past. During the 2025-26 school year, several threats and hoax reports prompted evacuations and police investigations at Allen and other Allentown schools. It was not immediately clear Monday morning how the latest threat was received or whether investigators had identified a suspect.
