HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A large fire broke out Monday afternoon at a popular gun and sports shop along Easton Road in Horsham, sending heavy smoke into the air and drawing a massive response from area fire crews.

The blaze was reported in the early afternoon and quickly grew, forcing firefighters to go into defensive operations as flames spread through the commercial building.

Multiple departments from across Montgomery County responded, working for hours to knock down hot spots and keep the fire from spreading to nearby properties. Crews used heavy equipment to open up walls and reach burning sections of the structure.

Easton Road was shut down in both directions for an extended period while firefighters worked the scene, causing significant traffic delays in the area.

Because the shop included an indoor shooting range and carried firearms, ammunition, and outdoor sporting supplies, first responders approached the incident with extra caution. Specialized units were on standby as a precaution while firefighters worked from a safe distance.

At this time, no injuries have been reported. Everyone inside the business was able to get out safely.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Officials are expected to return to the scene to continue examining the damage and determine how the blaze started.
