EAST ROCKHILL TWP., Pa. — First responders from multiple area fire companies rushed to the scene of a barn fire in Bucks County on Wednesday evening. The blaze, reported at 6:27 p.m., broke out on the 4500 block of Axe Handle Road in East Rockhill Township, near a mobile home.
Officials said the fire quickly grew, fueled by the surrounding dense forest and the barn’s structure. Chickens kept in or near the barn were reportedly harmed by the flames, though the extent of the loss has not yet been confirmed.
Firefighters from across the region responded, working in challenging conditions to contain the blaze and protect nearby properties. According to emergency communications, one firefighter suffered heat exhaustion while battling the fire and received medical attention at the scene.
Crews continued to work late into the night, dousing hot spots and ensuring the fire did not spread further through the wooded area. No additional injuries to residents were reported.
