More than 122,000 cases of Gatorade are being recalled across dozens of states, including Pennsylvania and New Jersey, because certain bottles contain food dyes that were not declared on the product labels.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the recall involves 122,021 cases of 28-ounce bottles of Gatorade.

The affected products include:

  • Gatorade Lemon Lime
  • Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero
  • Gatorade Orange
  • Gatorade Orange Zero

The recalled drinks contain Yellow No. 5 and/or Yellow No. 6 that were not properly declared on the labels.

PepsiCo voluntarily initiated the recall on Sept. 25, 2026. The FDA later classified the action as a Class II recall on Oct. 2.

A Class II recall means use of or exposure to the affected product could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, while the likelihood of serious health consequences is considered remote.

The affected Gatorade was distributed to 37 states, including Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Consumers should check 28-ounce bottles for the following affected lot numbers and expiration dates:

  • 091026 DL — June 7, 2027
  • 091126 DL — June 8, 2027
  • 072226 DT — April 18, 2027
  • 072426 TL — April 20, 2027
  • 073126 TL — April 27, 2027
  • 072926 TL — April 25, 2027
  • 073026 TL — April 25, 2027
  • 081026 TL — May 7, 2027
  • 082126 OA — April 18, 2027
  • 080126 DL — April 28, 2027
  • 082026 DL — May 17, 2027
  • 083126 DT — June 7, 2027
  • 082526 KM — May 22, 2027
  • 090426 KM — June 1, 2027
  • 072726 TL — April 23, 2027

The recall remains ongoing.

The FDA notes that not every recall receives a separate public press release, and consumers should rely on identifying information such as product size, flavor, lot number and expiration date when checking products they may have purchased.
