LANDALE, Pa. – A two-alarm blaze left a twin home in Lansdale Borough uninhabitable Friday evening, sending one person to the hospital.
The fire broke out around 6:12 p.m. Friday at 121 North Towamencin Avenue, near West Third Street and just steps from Boardroom Spirits. According to Montgomery County emergency dispatch reports, neighbors called 911 after spotting heavy fire to the rear of the home—one neighbor reported hearing an explosion moments before flames were seen.
Fire crews arrived to find heavy fire showing from the back porch and rear section of the two‑story masonry-and-frame twin. The incident quickly escalated to a second alarm, bringing in multiple companies from around the region.
Firefighters cut holes in the roof to ventilate smoke and heat while battling the flames. The blaze was contained to the rear porch and back section of the home but caused extensive damage, leaving the residence uninhabitable.
One individual was transported to the hospital for injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation
