Emergency crews are on scene for a reported shooting in Sumneytown.

An adult female suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was reportedly shot outside.

A medical helicopter was placed on standby, but was not launched.

The severity of the victim’s injuries remains unknown at this time.

UPDATE: Early indications suggest this may have been an accidental shooting. Officials have not yet confirmed final details.
