Second deadly incident this year
Monday’s crash is the second fatality reported in 2026 involving a Bucks County Transport bus. Bucks County Transport is a private, nonprofit company that provides shared-ride transportation for county residents.
On Aug. 12, 83-year-old Ronald Davenport was struck and killed by a Bucks County Transport bus at Grundy Hall, a senior housing complex on Almshouse Road in Doylestown Township. According to the family’s attorney, Davenport was crossing toward the parking lot when he was hit by a bus bringing residents back from a concert.
The DA’s office says that case remains under active investigation. No charges have been filed.
Davenport’s family has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Bucks County Transport, the bus manufacturer and the Bucks County Housing Authority. The suit claims the housing authority failed to add traffic-safety measures for its elderly residents. It also points to a 2021 case in which a Bucks County Transport bus allegedly hit a pedestrian in the driver’s blind spot.
There is no indication that Monday’s crash is connected to the August case.
