The FIFA World Cup is the largest sporting event in the world and takes place every four years. This highly celebrated tournament for men’s soccer is scheduled to be held in Philadelphia in 2026.

According to Meg Kane, the Host City Executive for Philadelphia, World Cup matches are watched regularly by 200 million people, which is almost twice as many viewers as the Super Bowl gets around the world (which is about 115 million viewers).

A total of 104 matches will be played during the tournament, each of which will command a massive worldwide audience. This weekend, Philadelphia received the news that six of those matches will be played at Lincoln Financial field between June 14 and July 4.
