PALM BEACH, Fla. — An armed man was shot and killed early Sunday morning after breaching the secure perimeter of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property in Palm Beach, Florida, according to the United States Secret Service.

Authorities confirmed that Donald Trump was not at the Mar-a-Lago property at the time of the incident, and no protectees were present. The property remains under constant Secret Service protection due to its status as a residence of a former U.S. president.
Law enforcement sources indicate the suspect had recently been reported missing by family members. Investigators also recovered items from the suspect’s vehicle believed to be connected to the incident. Officials have not yet released the suspect’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the Secret Service, and federal investigators are conducting a joint investigation to determine the suspect’s motive and the events leading up to the security breach.
