Accident occurred on Sunday morning on I-476 in Washington Township, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. State Police are currently investigating the incident, which involved a 50-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction.
The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office reported that the crash happened around 9:09 a.m. The victim, who was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle, was traveling northbound at mile marker 67.1 along with approximately five other motorcycle riders when he was hit by a 2019 Honda HR-V. The Honda, driven by a 24-year-old woman from Perth Amboy, New Jersey, was headed south in the northbound lanes.
The woman sustained minor injuries in the collision, and a 24-year-old man from Bristol was also injured. The coroner confirmed that the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene around 10:10 a.m.
At this time, officials have not provided additional information regarding the condition of other riders or whether the driver of the vehicle will face any charges. Further updates from the investigation are awaited.
