LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. — Social media users across the Lehigh Valley were buzzing this week after posts claiming that Buc-ee’s was planning a location somewhere in eastern Pennsylvania began circulating online.
The rumor quickly spread across local Facebook groups and community pages, with many residents expressing excitement over the possibility of the massive Texas-based travel center chain coming to the region.
However, despite the viral speculation, there is currently no confirmed Buc-ee’s development planned for the Lehigh Valley.
At this time, the company has not announced any official Pennsylvania locations, and no land development plans, zoning applications, or municipal approvals tied to Buc-ee’s have surfaced in the Lehigh Valley area.
The rumor appears to have gained traction following renewed online discussion about Buc-ee’s expanding into additional states throughout the country. Reports published this week confirmed the company is preparing to open locations in states including Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Wisconsin — but Pennsylvania was not included in the expansion plans.
Speculation about Buc-ee’s eventually entering Pennsylvania is not entirely new. Over the past year, drivers along the Pennsylvania Turnpike have spotted Buc-ee’s billboards teasing the brand’s presence in the region, fueling ongoing rumors about a future expansion into the Commonwealth. Still, no official Pennsylvania project has been confirmed by the company.
