Team officials announced Tuesday that star guard Tyrese Maxey will be sidelined for at least three weeks after suffering a finger tendon injury. The team said Maxey’s condition will be reevaluated after that period to determine his recovery progress and a possible return timeline.

Maxey, a two-time All-Star, injured the pinkie finger on his right hand during a collision with teammate Adem Bona late in the fourth quarter of Saturday night’s 126–116 loss to the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta.

Following the injury, Maxey consulted with multiple hand specialists, who recommended the guard rest the finger for at least three weeks before further evaluation.

The loss of Maxey is a significant setback for Philadelphia. The dynamic guard has been one of the team’s most important offensive weapons this season, providing scoring, playmaking, and leadership in the backcourt.

During his time with the 76ers, Maxey has developed into one of the NBA’s rising stars and a cornerstone of the franchise’s future. His absence will likely force Philadelphia to rely on other guards and adjust rotations as the team works to stay competitive during his recovery.

The 76ers have not provided an exact timetable for Maxey’s return beyond the three-week reevaluation window.

More updates on Maxey’s status are expected as the team monitors his recovery.
