
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A 15-year-old boy has been arrested following a stabbing Wednesday afternoon that left a 14-year-old girl seriously injured in Allentown.
According to the Allentown Police Department, officers responded at approximately 2:05 p.m. to the 500 block of North New Street for a report of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers located a 14-year-old girl suffering from a stab wound. The victim was treated at the scene and transported by Allentown EMS to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Police say their investigation quickly led to the identification of the suspect, a 15-year-old boy. He was located and taken into custody without incident.
Due to his age, the juvenile suspect has not been publicly identified.
Earlier in the afternoon, a large police presence and crime scene tape were visible in the area as investigators processed the scene. The Allentown Police Department Crime Scene Unit was called in, with evidence markers placed throughout the area while detectives collected evidence.
Additional details regarding the relationship between the victim and suspect, as well as any charges filed, have not yet been released.
