NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Firefighters from across Bucks County responded Thursday evening to a large commercial fire at Doylestown Waste Recycling in New Britain Township.
The fire was reported shortly before 5:50 p.m. at the recycling facility located in the 1500 block of Swamp Road.
Arriving crews encountered a two-story commercial building fully involved in flames, prompting command to quickly request a second alarm to bring in additional firefighters, tankers, and support units to the scene.
Heavy fire conditions could be seen consuming the structure as firefighters worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby areas.
As of Thursday evening, no injuries have been reported, and crews remain on scene extinguishing hot spots and conducting overhaul operations.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and will be investigated once the scene is safe for fire investigators to enter.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area of Swamp Road while emergency crews continue to operate.
This remains a developing story. First Source News will continue to provide updates as additional information becomes available.
