SCOTRUN, Pa. — A Towanda woman is facing two criminal homicide charges after her husband and 3-year-old son were found dead inside a room at the Great Wolf Lodge in Pocono Township, according to police and court documents.

Pocono Township police said officers were sent to the resort around 3:13 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, after a woman called for help. Police identified the caller as 27-year-old Metallica Rose Harrison, who told dispatchers she needed help committing suicide. Officers found Harrison with injuries and discovered the bodies of an adult man and a 3-year-old boy while checking the room for other family members.

According to the criminal complaint, Harrison allegedly told the 911 dispatcher that her husband and son were already dead. The complaint identifies the man as Charles Harrison and the child by his initials. Investigators said Charles Harrison had multiple stab wounds to his chest, while the child appeared to have one stab wound to his chest.

The complaint says Harrison had cuts on her wrist and puncture wounds on her neck. She was taken to a hospital for treatment. While being transported, she allegedly made statements about wanting to have a happy family. Authorities said she later declined to answer detectives’ questions.

Investigators reported finding two knives in the room’s bathroom. Resort staff told police the knives were not the type kept at the lodge, according to the complaint. The family had checked into the resort on Sept. 21 and had been scheduled to leave Oct. 13.

Harrison has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide and is awaiting a preliminary hearing. Police said the investigation remains ongoing. The department described the incident as an isolated domestic tragedy and said there is no threat to the community.

The Monroe County district attorney described the case as a “violent domestic tragedy.” Great Wolf Lodge said it was cooperating with law enforcement and expressed condolences to the family and loved ones
