A man was shot Saturday afternoon by Buckingham Township Police after he allegedly became combative while wielding a chain as a weapon. The incident occurred following a vehicle accident on the 4800 block of Redfield Road.

Police were dispatched to the scene around 3:37 p.m. Upon arrival, they encountered the man armed with a chain. Despite commands for him to stop, the situation escalated, leading the officers to discharge their weapons.

As of Saturday evening, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office reported that the man is receiving medical treatment for injuries related to the shooting. Fortunately, authorities have indicated that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Details regarding the suspect’s condition remain unclear, and neither the District Attorney nor the police have confirmed if the man was shot during the incident, with further updates expected later.

Bucks County detectives are currently investigating the shooting, in accordance with protocols that require all police-involved incidents in the area to be reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office and investigated by county detectives.

Further updates will be shared as the investigation progresses or if significant information becomes available. For more updates, visit us on Facebook at FirstSourceNews and at firstsourcenews.net.
