BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Northampton County) — Firefighters from across the Bethlehem area responded Thursday afternoon to a 2nd-alarm commercial fire at Heights Market, located at 1811 10th Street.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the basement, prompting command to immediately strike a second alarm for additional manpower. Multiple companies from surrounding departments assisted as firefighters worked to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading through the market building.
As of now, no injuries have been reported, though the structure sustained significant smoke and fire damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by local authorities.
Residents in the area reported seeing thick smoke as crews worked for over an hour to extinguish remaining hotspots.
