The National Weather Service office in Mount Holly, New Jersey has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Tuesday, December 2, 2025, for portions of eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey, including Upper Bucks, Western Montgomery, Western Chester, and Hunterdon County.

Impacts on the Morning CommuteWhat to Expect by Late Morning

The advisory is in effect from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.

According to forecasters, a fast-moving system will spread snow and a wintry mix into the region before daybreak, with total snow and sleet accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, highest over the elevated terrain. The precipitation is expected to change over to all rain by late Tuesday morning as temperatures climb above freezing.

The NWS advisory map for December 2 highlights the affected counties in shaded colors, showing a narrow band of wintry weather running from central and eastern Pennsylvania into western New Jersey. Areas just outside the advisory are expected to see mainly rain or only minor wintry impacts.

Impacts on the Morning Commute

The National Weather Service warns that road conditions could become slippery, especially on untreated surfaces, bridges, and overpasses during the early morning hours.

The Tuesday morning commute is the main concern, as snow and sleet could reduce visibility and create patches of ice before the changeover to rain.

Drivers heading out early are urged to:

  • Allow extra time to reach their destination
  • Reduce speed and increase following distance
  • Use headlights in falling snow or sleet
  • Check 511 for the latest road conditions in Pennsylvania and New Jersey

What to Expect by Late Morning

As warmer air moves in, the wintry mix is forecast to transition to plain rain by mid to late morning, reducing the risk of additional accumulation. However, any slush or residual icy spots may linger on secondary roads and side streets for a time.

Residents across Upper Bucks, Western Montgomery, Western Chester, and Hunterdon County should stay weather-aware through the morning, keep an eye on the radar, and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
