LEHIGH VALLEY & BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. — Thousands of residents across the Lehigh Valley and Bucks County are without power as PPL Electric Utilities responds to widespread outages across eastern Pennsylvania.

As of the latest outage data, more than 47,000 PPL customers are experiencing power interruptions across the utility’s service area.

Local Impact

Lehigh County: Approximately 3,000 customers remain without power Bucks County: Around 2,200 customers are currently affected

PPL officials say line crews are actively working to assess damage, make repairs, and safely restore service as quickly as possible. Restoration times can vary depending on the cause of the outage, weather conditions, and the extent of damage to electrical infrastructure.

What Customers Should Know

Residents experiencing outages are encouraged to:

Avoid downed power lines and report them immediately Check on neighbors, especially seniors or those with medical needs Limit opening refrigerators and freezers to preserve food Use generators safely and never indoors

How to Check Your Outage Status

Customers can find the most up-to-date information by:

Viewing the PPL Electric Utilities outage map Reporting outages or checking restoration updates through PPL’s website Texting “STATUS” to 898775 for outage updates

PPL reminds customers that outage numbers and restoration estimates can change as crews continue field assessments.

This is a developing situation. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
