

UPPER SAUCON TOWNSHIP — Police and members of the Allentown bomb squad responded to the Wawa along Route 309 in Upper Saucon Township after an incident involving a vehicle in the parking lot.
U. SAUCON TWP., Pa. — Police, fire crews and the bomb squad responded to an incident at a Wawa in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County, Tuesday.
Crews were sent to the store on Route 309 after a 911 call was made shortly before 12:30 p.m., according to county dispatchers.
A large safety perimeter was set up around the store as officers focused their attention on a white SUV. The Wawa was evacuated and nearby businesses and properties were also cleared as a precaution while authorities worked the scene.
Officials reported no injuries connected to the situation.
Witnesses said multiple police units and specialized technicians remained on scene for several hours while investigators assessed the vehicle and ensured the area was safe. Traffic in the immediate area was restricted during the response.
Authorities have not released details about what was found, what triggered the response, or whether any charges may follow.
