A Philadelphia man has been formally charged and denied bail in what prosecutors describe as a domestic violence-related killing in Bristol Township, Bucks County.
The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office announced that 32-year-old Yujun Ren is charged with criminal homicide, possession of an instrument of crime, and stalking in connection with the death of Yuan Yuan Lu.
According to the Bristol Township Police Department, officers were led to a home on the unit block of Outlook Lane in Levittown, where they found Lu seated in the driver’s seat of her vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sexual Assault Report Filed Hours Earlier
Court documents reference a recorded interview in which Lu told detectives that Ren sexually assaulted her earlier that day at his South Philadelphia home. She told investigators she decided to end the relationship, packed her belongings, and blocked him.
Lu reportedly told detectives she was afraid of Ren and said he carried a gun everywhere.
Authorities say evidence shows Ren began stalking Lu’s vehicle early Sunday morning. Ring camera footage captured around 5:45 a.m. allegedly shows Lu driving past a home, with a vehicle believed to be Ren’s trailing behind.
Hours later, around 12:30 p.m., detectives found Lu shot to death inside her car.
“Chilling Course of Conduct”
In a statement, Joe Khan described the investigation as revealing a “chilling course of conduct.”
According to court documents, Ren told police he was standing outside Lu’s car door when she “said hurtful things and took their cats and dogs.” He claimed he removed a gun from his waistband to scare her and that the weapon discharged.
Ren was arraigned Sunday night and denied bail. He remains in custody.
