Authorities say Trung Duc Lu is accused of participating in a violent crime that occurred in Philadelphia more than a decade ago. Investigators allege Lu played a key role in the kidnapping and torture of a victim before the individual was ultimately killed.

The FBI said the case involves a particularly brutal attack that shocked investigators at the time. Lu has been sought by law enforcement for years and was recently elevated to the bureau’s most prominent fugitive list in an effort to generate new leads from the public.

Officials are now offering a reward of up to $1 million for information that leads directly to Lu’s arrest and conviction.

The FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, created in 1950, highlights some of the most dangerous and elusive suspects sought by federal authorities. Placement on the list typically indicates investigators believe the individual poses a significant threat and that public assistance could be crucial to locating them.

According to federal authorities, Lu should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts is urged not to approach him and to contact law enforcement immediately.

The FBI is asking anyone with information about Lu’s location to contact their nearest FBI office or submit a tip through official channels.

Further details about the case and Lu’s potential whereabouts remain under investigation.
