MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. — Multiple people were injured early Wednesday morning after an ambulance collided with a passenger vehicle in Montgomery County, resulting in entrapment and a large emergency response.
The crash happened shortly after 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of Fitzwatertown Road and Susquehanna Road in Upper Dublin Township.
According to officials, the ambulance was transporting a patient to a local hospital at the time of the collision when it struck another vehicle. Emergency crews arriving on scene reported at least one person trapped inside the passenger vehicle.
Firefighters worked to remove the trapped victim from the heavily damaged vehicle. Images from the scene showed significant damage to both the ambulance and the passenger car, with the roof of the vehicle reportedly torn off during the crash.
Authorities confirmed that multiple people were transported to area hospitals following the incident, including the patient who was inside the ambulance. The extent of injuries has not been officially released at this time.
Police and emergency officials remain investigating what led up to the crash.
