
Emergency crews from multiple Bucks County fire departments worked together during a vehicle rescue response Tuesday morning involving an entrapped patient.
According to information released by Richlandtown Fire Company, Engine 36-1 arrived on scene and Captain 36 confirmed reports of a person trapped inside the vehicle, establishing βCalifornia Road Command.β
Firefighters immediately began stabilization and rescue operations, including cribbing the vehicle, initiating a door pop, and assisting with patient care. Engine 36 also arrived on scene and deployed a dry line from Engine 36-1 as crews worked to safely remove the victim.
Additional assistance was provided by West End Fire Company and Richland Township Fire & Rescue, with rescue crews utilizing hydraulic extrication tools from Rescue 18 during the operation.
Officials said the extrication was completed at approximately 9:46 a.m. The patient was then transported from the scene by Medic 108. The extent of injuries has not been released at this time.
Several area fire police units also assisted with traffic control and road closures while crews operated at the scene, including members from Coopersburg Fire Rescue, Perkasie Fire Company No. 1, Palisades Regional Fire Rescue, and Milford Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1.
Officials praised the coordinated efforts of all responding agencies, stating the incident was brought to a successful outcome through seamless teamwork.
