COOPERSBURG, Pa. β It was a frightening scene in Coopersburg after powerful winds moved through the region overnight, ripping the roof off part of a strip mall along 3rd Street.
The damage impacted the building housing New Santiagos Restaurant and La Cantina de Abuela, where strong gusts tore away sections of the roof, leaving debris scattered around the property.
The intense winds were part of a line of storms that swept across southeastern Pennsylvania, bringing heavy rain and damaging wind gusts to multiple communities.
By morning, the extent of the damage was clearly visible, with sections of the structure exposed and cleanup efforts beginning. The incident highlights the strength of the winds that moved through the area overnight.
At this time, there has been no word on injuries, and it is unclear if anyone was inside the businesses when the damage occurred.
Additional reports of storm damage, including downed trees and scattered debris, have been reported across the region as crews continue to assess the impacts.
This remains a developing situation.
