
SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A 39-year-old Fountain Hill man has died following a crash involving his motorcycle and a car Friday night in Salisbury Township.
Emergency dispatchers said the crash occurred shortly after 9 p.m. in the 1100 block of East Susquehanna Street, near Ueberroth Avenue.
The driver of the car was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters. The driver was also injured and transported to a local hospital.
According to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, the motorcyclist was transported to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem, where he was pronounced dead at 10:08 p.m.
Officials said the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. His identity has not yet been released.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, September 14, at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center to assist in determining the cause of death.
The Salisbury Township Police Department and Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are investigating. The Lehigh County Crash Team is assisting with the investigation and reconstruction of the crash.
