HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A worker was killed Friday afternoon following an industrial accident at the UPS distribution hub in Horsham Township, according to initial emergency reports.
Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 12:36 p.m. to the UPS facility in the 700 block of Blair Mill Road after reports of a serious incident in the rear loading dock area.
Initial emergency dispatches indicated a worker had become trapped between a tractor-trailer and a loading dock and was not breathing. Responding crews immediately began rescue efforts.
According to preliminary information, the employee was reportedly struck by the rear of a tractor-trailer as it was backing away from a loading dock. The worker’s head became pinned between the trailer and the loading dock.
The worker was pronounced dead as a result of the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
