WEST EASTON BOROUGH, Pa. — A 52-year-old man was shot and killed following a confrontation with two people inside his West Easton home Saturday morning, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers responded to the 100 block of Spring Street shortly before 9 a.m. for a reported shooting.
Upon entering the residence, troopers found the 52-year-old man deceased with gunshot wounds. State police confirmed that the victim lived at the home. His identity has not yet been released.
Investigators said the shooting occurred after the victim became involved in a confrontation with two other people inside the residence. Other individuals who were inside the home were taken in for questioning.
State police said there is no threat to the public.
Spring Street was closed between East Street and Ridge Street while investigators processed the scene.
The Northampton County Coroner’s Office responded and will conduct an autopsy to determine the victim’s cause and manner of death.
Investigators are working to obtain a search warrant, conduct additional interviews and coordinate with the Northampton County Coroner’s Office and Northampton County District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being handled by the Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Major Case Team. The Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Troop M Collision Analysis Reconstruction Specialist Unit, Easton police, Wilson Borough police, Suburban Ambulance and West Easton Borough Fire Department are assisting.
