
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A 22-year-old woman was fatally shot inside her home early Tuesday morning, and authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the crime.
Around 4:30 a.m., Allentown police responded to the 700 block of Turner Street for a report of a woman shot inside an apartment. Upon arrival, officers found the woman lying in the hallway of the apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
An AR-15 rifle and several spent casings were discovered near the bedroom door, and a camera was located near an infant’s crib. On the roof, investigators found a black rifle case and a gray hooded sweatshirt near the point of entry.
According to court documents, surveillance footage revealed that the suspect, identified as Makowka, arrived in the area around 3:45 a.m. in a gray Honda Civic. At approximately 4:00 a.m., Makowka was seen exiting his vehicle wearing a dark gray sweatshirt, dark pants, and red sneakers, while carrying a rifle bag. By 4:23 a.m., he was seen leaving the apartment without the bag or sweatshirt, driving away from the scene.
Makowka was later located in Hoffman Park, Lansdowne, Pa., inside his Honda Civic. With the assistance of the Lansdowne Police Department, he was taken into custody shortly after 6:30 a.m.
Makowka is currently being held in custody and is awaiting extradition to Lehigh County. He faces charges including criminal homicide, attempted homicide, and two counts of aggravated assault. Police are continuing their investigation as more details emerge.
