The latest changes mark the fourth straight year Disney has increased prices on its streaming services as the company continues to adjust its streaming strategy and push customers toward bundled subscriptions.
Disney+ Premium, the company’s standalone ad-free plan, is increasing by $2.50 per month, from $18.99 to $21.49. Hulu’s standalone ad-free plan is also increasing from $18.99 to $21.49 per month.
That amounts to an increase of about 13%.
Customers who use the less-expensive ad-supported options will see a smaller increase. Disney+ with ads and Hulu with ads are each increasing by 50 cents, from $11.99 to $12.49 per month.
The new prices took effect September 23 for new subscribers. Existing subscribers will see the higher rates reflected on their next monthly bill, depending on their billing cycle.
New Disney+ and Hulu prices
- Disney+ with ads: $12.49/month, up from $11.99
- Disney+ Premium without ads: $21.49/month, up from $18.99
- Hulu with ads: $12.49/month, up from $11.99
- Hulu Premium without ads: $21.49/month, up from $18.99
- Disney+ and Hulu bundle with ads: $12.99/month — no increase
- Disney+ and Hulu Premium bundle: $21.99/month, up from $19.99
The pricing makes Disney’s bundles increasingly attractive compared with subscribing to the services separately.
For example, Disney+ Premium alone now costs $21.49 per month, while the ad-free Disney+ and Hulu bundle costs just 50 cents more at $21.99 per month.
The ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle remains unchanged at $12.99 per month — just 50 cents more than subscribing to either Disney+ or Hulu individually.
Some Disney, Hulu and ESPN bundles are also changing.
The Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select bundle with ads is increasing to $21.99 per month, while the Premium version rises to $32.99 per month. Bundles featuring ESPN Unlimited remain at $35.99 per month with ads and $44.99 for the Premium bundle.
Disney has also been further integrating its streaming services. Subscribers can access Hulu content through Disney+, and ESPN programming is increasingly available inside the Disney+ platform depending on a customer’s subscription.
The increases come as streaming companies across the industry continue raising subscription prices while placing greater emphasis on advertising and bundled packages.
For Disney+ subscribers, the biggest impact will be felt by customers who want to continue watching without advertising, with the standalone Premium plan now costing more than $250 per year when paid monthly.
