A fire broke out Thursday morning at a home along the 1000 block of 10th Street in Allentown, prompting a large response from city firefighters and mutual-aid crews.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from a two-story residence and quickly stretched lines to attack the blaze. Crews were able to bring the fire under control within about 30 minutes, preventing it from spreading to neighboring homes.
No injuries were reported, and all occupants safely evacuated before firefighters arrived.
The home suffered significant fire and smoke damage, particularly to the second floor and attic area. Fire marshals remained on scene to investigate the cause of the blaze, which was not immediately released.
Neighbors said the quick response of the Allentown Fire Department helped contain the flames. “They were here in minutes and got right to work,” one resident told FirstSourceNews.
