Very Cold Wind Chills Expected Overnight into Tuesday Morning
A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect overnight into Tuesday morning for parts of New Jersey and southeast Pennsylvania, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.
Forecasters say dangerously cold wind chills as low as 5 degrees below zero are expected between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The advisory covers portions of central, northern, and northwest New Jersey along with southeast Pennsylvania, including areas in:
- Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, and Mercer counties in New Jersey
- Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks counties in Pennsylvania
Cities and communities impacted include Flemington, Somerville, New Brunswick, Freehold, Trenton, West Chester, Kennett Square, Pottstown, Norristown, Lansdale, Chalfont, Perkasie, Doylestown, Morrisville, and surrounding areas.
Officials urge residents to take precautions when heading outdoors, as frostbite and hypothermia can occur with prolonged exposure.
Residents are advised to dress in layers, wear a hat and gloves, and limit time outside during the coldest hours of the morning.
Temperatures are expected to gradually improve later Tuesday as winds ease and sunshine increases.
