A woman accused of driving the wrong way on the Pennsylvania Turnpike and causing a deadly motorcycle crash has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service.
Authorities say 25-year-old Onanyeli Rosario-Mesa, of Allentown, was taken into custody Wednesday in Northeast Philadelphia by the U.S. Marshals Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force.
Investigators say the crash happened on March 30, 2025, along Interstate 476 in Washington Township after Rosario-Mesa allegedly drove southbound in the northbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike before colliding with a group of motorcyclists.
Officials said 50-year-old John Sweeney Jr., of Bristol, Pennsylvania, was killed in the crash. Several witnesses reportedly attempted to warn other drivers and moved off the roadway moments before the collision occurred.
According to court documents, Rosario-Mesa is facing multiple charges including homicide by vehicle while DUI, homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, DUI offenses, and additional traffic violations.
Authorities said Rosario-Mesa failed to surrender after charges were filed, leading investigators to launch a fugitive investigation. U.S. Marshals later tracked her to an apartment in Northeast Philadelphia, where she was arrested without incident.
She was turned over to Pennsylvania State Police for processing. Bail was reportedly set at $500,000, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 12.
