
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office has identified the teenager who was killed in a shooting Saturday night in Allentown.
Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said 17-year-old Ja’meer Roberts of Allentown was pronounced dead at 11:31 p.m. Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg. The cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
According to Allentown Police, officers responded around 10:01 p.m. Saturday to the area of North Jay Street and East North Street following reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they located three victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Emergency personnel treated the victims at the scene before transporting all three to area hospitals. Roberts later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation remains active and is being conducted by the Allentown Police Department, Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk released a statement following the shooting, expressing condolences to the victim’s family and calling for action to address youth gun violence in the city.
