
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — An early evening fire damaged an auto body shop on East Congress Street in Allentown on Friday, but no injuries were reported, according to initial emergency dispatch information.
Fire crews were dispatched to the 650 block of East Congress Street for smoke showing from a single-story commercial building. Upon arrival, firefighters located a working fire inside an auto body shop and quickly deployed lines to bring the situation under control.
Officials say the blaze was knocked down in a short period of time, helping prevent the fire from spreading beyond the affected area. The full extent of the damage has not yet been released.
No civilians or firefighters were hurt.
